Legal Costs
Our legal costs per application vary depending on the complexity of a case and the number of applicants involved. We will always give you a quote for our legal costs before commencing a matter.
As lawyers, we are required under the Legal Profession Act 2004 (Vic) to enter into a costs agreement with you which sets out in detail exactly how much you will be charged, and when you will be charged in relation to making an application on your behalf. The costs agreement also sets out the circumstances in which it may be necessary to undertake extra work on your behalf (for example, where there is an allegation made by DIAC about bogus documents or work experience in an application) and the rate at which that extra work will be charged.
It is our practice to have all payments towards costs deposited into our Statutory trust account which is subject to annual audits. The full lump sum amount should be deposited into our trust account by the time of lodgement of the application. It is not transferred to our office account until an acknowledgment is received from DIAC and we have rendered you an account.
Our fees are carefully calculated. All applications vary and each case is carefully appraised by us to ensure that a lump sum amount is calculated which takes into account, the complexity of the case and the applicant's details and background. By treating each case as unique and Individual each client can be assured to receive the individual care and service required.
